Outdated Panel?
Power Up Right.

Right-Sized Panels.
Built For The Long Haul.

A panel upgrade is a long-term decision. Done right, the panel we install today will still be the heart of your home's power 30 years from now. Done wrong, you'll be calling someone back inside of five.

We size panels for what you actually use — and what you're going to add. EV chargers, hot tubs, electric ranges, central HVAC, backup generators, additions: it all factors in. Every install is done by a Texas-licensed master electrician, inspected, permitted, and built to NEC code. No shortcuts. No moonlight wiring.

Whether you're staring down a Federal Pacific Stab-Lok, a fused 60-amp service from 1965, or a 100A panel that just can't keep up with a modern home, we'll get you on a panel that's safe, code-compliant, and ready for whatever you plug into it next.

Six Reasons People Call Us
For A Panel Upgrade.

Not every old panel needs to be replaced. But these are the situations where an upgrade isn't optional — it's overdue.

01

Adding An EV Charger

Level 2 EV chargers pull 30–60 amps. Older panels rarely have the capacity or breaker space without an upgrade.

02

Old Fuse Box Or 100A Service

If you're still running fuses or a 100A panel in a modern home, you're running out of capacity every time the AC kicks on.

03

Federal Pacific, Zinsco, Or Pushmatic

Documented failure history with these brands. Some insurance carriers ask homeowners to replace them as a condition of coverage.

04

Home Addition Or Major Remodel

New circuits for a kitchen remodel, finished basement, or addition usually means more breaker space than the old panel allows.

05

Adding A Backup Generator

Whole-home generators and interlock kits need a properly sized panel with the right breaker layout.

06

Selling Your Home

Inspectors flag old, undersized, or recalled panels. Upgrading before listing often pays for itself in the sale price.

Lost Power? Burning Smell?

Don't wait. Electrical emergencies can become dangerous fast.

Panel Upgrade Questions.
Honest Answers.

The questions San Angelo homeowners actually ask before booking a panel upgrade.

How much does a panel upgrade cost in San Angelo? +
Cost depends on the panel size you need, the condition of your service entrance, and whether the meter base or service cable also needs replacement. Every job is quoted up front — including the panel, breakers, permit, and inspection — so you know the full cost before any work begins. Call for a free estimate.
Do I need a 200-amp panel? Is 100 amps enough? +
100-amp service is fine for a small home with no electric heat, no EV charger, no electric range, and no central A/C. For most modern homes — especially with HVAC, electric appliances, a hot tub, an EV charger, or plans for any of those — 200 amps is the standard. If you're adding an EV charger or a backup generator, plan on 200A minimum.
How long does a panel replacement take? +
A typical residential panel swap is a same-day job. The power has to be cut at the meter for most of the work, so we coordinate scheduling with you (and the utility, if needed) to minimize disruption. We work to restore power before we leave.
Do I need a permit for a panel upgrade? +
Yes. Panel replacements and service upgrades require a permit and inspection in Tom Green County and surrounding jurisdictions. We pull the permit, do the work to NEC and Texas electrical code, and handle inspection scheduling so everything is documented for insurance and resale.
Will my insurance company want a panel upgrade? +
Possibly — especially if you have a Federal Pacific Stab-Lok, Zinsco, or Pushmatic panel. These brands have known issues, and some insurance carriers ask for them to be replaced as a condition of coverage. If you've gotten a letter from your carrier asking about your panel, give us a call and we can help you understand your options.
Can you upgrade a panel for an EV charger? +
Absolutely. EV chargers are one of the most common reasons we do panel upgrades in San Angelo. A Level 2 charger needs a dedicated 240V circuit, and most older panels don't have the capacity or the breaker space. We can spec the right panel size, run the dedicated circuit, and install the charger all in one visit.
